For setting up your custom personal budget plan, start by defining your custom income, expenses and savings categories first. For that, simply unhide the hidden rows in the income, expenses and savings section and add your custom categories where it says “Enter xxx category…”. After that, you can start planning your income, expenses and savings budgets for each individual month.

To follow the recommended approach of zero-based budgeting, make sure that your planned income equals the planned expenses and savings. You can keep track of the amount that is still left to be allocated in each month at the top summary bar.
